WBA’s vision is to drive the seamless and interoperable services experience via Wi-Fi within the global wireless ecosystem.
Our Mission
Our mission is to enable collaboration among service providers, technology companies and organizations in the industry who share the same vision. We undertake programs and activities that aim to address business & technical issues, as well as opportunities for member companies.
WBA work areas include advocacy, industry guidelines, trials and certification. Our key programs include Next Gen Wi-Fi, 5G, IoT, Roaming, Testing & Interoperability with Work Groups led by the membership that aim to resolve standards and technical issues while supporting end-to-end services and accelerate business opportunities.
Key Objectives
1. Share and promote thought-leadership and industry insights realized through the bi-annual WBA Wireless Global Congress, Industry Awards, Innovation Showcase, analyst and media briefing sessions, Global Wi-Fi Industry Report, Connected City Advisory Board (CCAB) and World Wi-Fi Day.
2. Foster and enhance ecosystem engagement realized through joint initiatives with key industry forums (GSMA, Wi-Fi Alliance, LoRa Alliance, etc.), end-to-end ecosystem testing & trials, City Wi-Fi roaming, global Wi-Fi roaming initiative, members’ working sessions held throughout the year, executive dialogue sessions, industry workshops and seminars, and more.
3. Define and develop operator best practice realized through technical interoperability specifications, Carrier Wireless Services Certification (CWSC) testing program, white papers, and Wi-Fi Deployment Guidelines.
