Understand More About Wi-Fi 6/ 6E and Wi-Fi 7
How is the WBA helping to drive the benefits of Wi-Fi 6/6E for the wider industry?
WBA has been focused on Wi-Fi 6 and 6E, the user-friendly term for IEEE’s 802.11ax standard, for the past years. Wi-Fi 6 will help with congestion problems, increase densification of the network, allow for more connected devices, and enable new use cases. Wi-Fi 7 is being designed from day 1 to use newly available bandwidth, with features including 320 MHz wide channels and true multi-band/multi-radio Layer 2 carrier aggregation multi-AP coordination.
- To drive the adoption of Wi-Fi 6 & 6E, WBA developed the Wi-Fi 6 Deployment Guidelines which outline different vertical use cases and and provides guidance on best practice deployment
-
WBA provides a platform for end-to-end Wi-Fi 6 /6E trials based on a comprehensive test plan. WBA is championing a global Wi-Fi 6/ 6E program to ensure that industry needs are addressed as Wi-Fi 6 and 5G standards are ratified.
-
WBA instigated the trials program across multiple verticals to provide a platform for testing end to end use cases in real live venues. These include:
Manufacturing (IoT Industry 4.0)
- Enterprises
- Transportation Hub– trains, planes etc
- Stadiums, Universities, Campus
Residential (SFU/MDU)
Cities
Rural areas
Public venues
WBA invites companies from across the ecosystem to get involved the Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 6 trials with us.
