The Wireless Broadband Alliance’s bi-annual event, the Wi-Fi Global Congress, is the world’s leading Wi-Fi showcase, conference, and networking event. After our overwhelmingly successful event in London this past May, we’re looking ahead to our next one, taking place on 12 – 15 October 2015 in San Jose, California at the San Jose Convention Center.
This promises to be our biggest event yet, and it’s no coincidence that it’s taking place in San Jose, aka ‘the Capital of Silicon Valley.’
“Silicon Valley is the hub of much of the innovation that has been seen in the technology sector, including the realm of Wi-Fi,” said Shrikant Shenwai, CEO of the WBA.
“From the WBA’s perspective, San Jose was an easy choice as the location of our next Wi-Fi Global Congress. It’s a city that has been very progressive in how they’ve embraced the Smart City vision, and it has strong public Wi-Fi initiative based on Next-Generation Hotspot (NGH) technologies promoted by WBA.”
For those who have never attended the Wi-Fi Global Congress, there’s no better time than now, as the San Jose event will focus on several major topics in the Wi-Fi industry. These include the role of Wi-Fi in Smart Cities, Internet of Things (IoT), Next Generation Hotspots (NGH), Convergence, Big Data and the roadmap towards 5G.
“For the last several years, the industry has been focused on Carrier Wi-Fi. But now, as we slowly head towards 2020, Wi-Fi is increasingly being applied to many diverse services,” said Shenwai.
“The key to our event in San Jose is the road to 2020. As an organization, and as part of a growing, evolving industry, we’re addressing a wider array of topics than ever before.”
In addition to the two-day conference and exhibition showcase, the Wi-Fi Global Congress will also include the following: the 2015 Industry Awards; members’ working sessions; the NGH Live Experience; and the WBA Accelerator Sessions. In short, the four-day event will be an informative, educational, and enjoyable event for all attendees.
“This is a great opportunity for all key players in the industry – from the large, Wi-Fi centered companies, to the small, innovative start-ups – to come together and share their innovations with each other,” said Shenwai.
“It’s going to be a very exciting event.”
