WBA has released the first study on Private 5G and Wi-Fi Convergence which evaluated key business opportunities and use cases based on recommended architectures between 5G and Wi-Fi. It is expected 2023 continues to see the deployment of Wi-Fi 6 and 6E in enterprises.

This project analyzes how the enterprise Wi-Fi segmentation and 5G slicing in private network deployments based on the deployment guidelines for converged Wi-Fi and 5G deployments in private 5G networks;
Operators and network providers benefit from this project with recommendations on how to maximize the benefits of 5G and Wi-Fi convergence in private 5G networks, helping their customers to deploy effective solutions across different enterprises to provide optimized services with improved security to meet specific requirements for their verticals.
Expected Deliverables
- Analyze how the enterprise Wi-Fi segmentation and 5G slicing in private network deployments;
- Provide deployment guidelines for converged Wi-Fi and 5G deployments in private 5G networks;
- Provide potential solutions with use cases and trials on Wi-Fi and 5G convergence in private 5G networks identified in Phase 1;
- This project will be collaborated with industry standards bodies such as 3GPP, IEEE, etc.
