ICP is one of the most important key drivers to standardize and facilitate global Wi-Fi roaming. There are many benefits of ICP that encouraged True to participate. Firstly, the program will enable participants to not only assess the level of Wi-Fi service capability, but also allow them to benchmark themselves with other global players. Secondly, having a standardized process and set of guidelines (TED & CBED) will accelerate the service interoperability in the mobile world. The final but important benefit is that ICP will be the starting point to revolutionize the customer experience in the new era of NGH-based Wi-Fi Roaming.
By participating in the ICP, we believe that:
Device Vendors will:
- better understand the direction of the industry in terms of device service capability development
- have more clarity on the operator’s requirement & concerns in terms of devices
- be able to quantify the global market demand
- know the timeline of commercial service launch
Operators will:
- be able to assess the level of Wi-Fi service capability
- benchmark with other global players and learn how service can be enhanced
- facilitate improved interoperability processes
- understand mobile/Wi-Fi convergence business opportunities
- learn best practices of providing an improved service to customers
Hub Vendors will:
- better understand the direction of the industry in terms of device service capability development
- understand mobile/Wi-Fi convergence business opportunities
Network Vendors will:
- Know the industry direction of equipment’s service capability development
- Know the operators requirement & concern in terms of equipment perspective
- Well quantify the global market demand
- Know the timeline of commercial service launch
After participating in the ICP and completing the first trial, we aim to be able to assess our own level of Wi-Fi service capability and benchmark this with the other global players, learn best practices and ultimately enhance roaming for our customers as a result. We also want to facilitate improved interoperability processes and better understand mobile/Wi-Fi convergence business opportunities.
