Buenos Aires, Singapore, London – Monday 5th August, 2013 – TeleSemana.com, the Wireless Broadband Alliance, the Small Cell Forum have announced a partnership and the launch of a dedicated HetNet channel containing exclusive multimedia content aimed at serving the Latin American telecoms industry.

TeleSemana.com will create a Spanish-language HetNet Channel on its website where its editors, in close collaboration with WBA and SCF, will publish original content on important news, analysis, research and opinion pieces. These will focus on HetNet activities around the world that will offer valuable lessons to the Latin American market. The HetNet Channel is scheduled to become available at the beginning of October.

The three organizations encompass all areas of the HetNet and will therefore provide complete coverage of the general trends occurring in this area, with the WBA offering the latest on how operators can integrate Wi-Fi with macro and fixed networks and the SCF providing information on new developments in small cell infrastructure for residential, enterprise and urban use cases.

The three organizations will also cooperate in other activities aligned with the HetNet Channel such as webinars and workshops in various Latin American markets.

“Latin America is an emerging market that is becoming increasingly prominent, particularly in the Wi-Fi ecosystem. The WBA is very keen to be involved in any initiative that will help to promote the importance of Carrier Wi-Fi and HetNet throughout this prospering region,” said Tiago Rodrigues, Program Director, WBA. “By working with TeleSemana.com and the SCF, we can help to bolster the HetNet channel so it becomes a key source of information for all those involved in the Latin American telecoms industry.”

“Latin America is an extremely important market with a huge amount of untapped potential,” said Graham Wright, CEO of the Small Cell Forum. “By collaborating with the Wireless Broadband Alliance and TeleSemana.com, we have a great opportunity to educate a wider audience than ever before about the added value and enhanced user experience that small cells bring to wireless networks. The Hetnet Channel will prove to be a key information tool for operators in the region.”

“This new partnership with WBA and SCF will result in a broader and diverse content offering on the HetNet for TeleSemana.com readers,” said Juan Gimenez, Marketing Director for TeleSemana.com. “Operators are transforming their networks to be able to remain competitive in this new and challenging environment and the HetNet will be a key component. It is our editorial staff’s duty to make sure the best content is available in our site, something they will be able to provide thanks to this agreement with WBA and SCF.”
