Can you please give us a brief overview of Wireless Gate? 

WirelessGate Inc is a Japan-based Company mainly engaged in the wireless broadband services related business. Leveraging Wi-Fi hotspots operated by multiple public wireless LAN providers as well as communication networks from various telecommunications carriers, the company delivers connectivity solutions tailored to customer needs, along with value-added services that enhance the overall user experience. In the public wireless LAN sector, WirelessGate is certified by major domestic Wi-Fi service providers and offers 5G-compatible communication services bundled with its Wi-Fi offerings.

How is 2026 shaping up for Wireless Gate? 

In 2026, we are accelerating our inbound connectivity business, with a focus on expanding sales of our Japan eSIM via our e-commerce channels. We are strengthening our digital marketing activities—especially SEO and multilingual content—to reach more travelers before and during their trips. In parallel, we are exploring how to enable inbound travelers to use OpenRoaming in Japan, to provide a more seamless and secure Wi-Fi experience.

What led Wireless Gate to join the WBA?

We joined the WBA to accelerate our efforts around OpenRoaming. Ultimately, we hope to work with WBA members to validate OpenRoaming use cases in Japan—particularly for inbound travelers—while expanding our connectivity footprint and continuously improving the security and user experience of public Wi-Fi.
