Maryland, 14 May 2019: Hughes Systique Corporation (HSC), a global technology solutions provider which is also a key player in Wi-Fi software innovation, today announced that it has become a member of Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA).
Being one of the front runners and early adopters of Hotspot 2.0 technology, HSC has been instrumental in deploying hotspot 2.0 networks commercially across the globe. With its cloud-based Next Generation Hotspot (NGH) solution, HSC aims to drive a seamless and secure user experience for Wi-Fi networks simplifying the ways users connect to and roam between Wi-Fi networks.
HSC’s NGH can be used by service providers or enterprises to setup/upgrade their Wi-Fi network as per PasspointTM standards. Its online sign-up (OSU) server helps in the provisioning of Wi-Fi profiles to end-user devices which enables automated scanning and gaining access to authorized Wi-Fi networks. With a focus on monetization of Wi-Fi networks, NGH also helps businesses in understanding their network with rich business insights via Wi-Fi Analytics component and with Proximity marketing it provides an additional engagement channel for personalized reach-outs to their customers.
Working with WBA, HSC would jointly work with the community for wider promotion and adoption of the technology. HSC will engage in various initiatives and workgroups led by WBA to learn and contribute in defining the various standards for next generation wi-fi, interoperability, roaming and trials of next generation hotspots.
“Becoming a member of WBA is an important step in our strategy as it is an influential knowledge body and would provide us a platform to innovate with the industry experts and contribute towards deployment of next generation Wi-Fi throughout the world” said Ajay Gupta, SVP, Global Business Development at Hughes Systique. He added “We are delighted to be a part of an industry body that focuses on driving enhanced Wi-Fi experience within global wireless ecosystem”
“We are delighted to welcome Hughes Systique as a WBA member; they are leaders in the NGH-Passpoint Next Generation Wi-Fi networks and Wi-Fi analytics space, and we are excited to have them involved with the Wireless Broadband Alliance”, said Tiago Rodrigues, General Manager, WBA.
