Mike Finley is CEO of Boingo Wireless and serves on the company’s board of directors. He sets the company’s strategic direction and leads Boingo’s work advancing converged networks that are redefining how people connect in complex environments — from military bases and airports to hospitals, commercial properties and major sports and entertainment venues.
Before joining Boingo, Finley held senior leadership roles that helped shape the growth of the global wireless industry. As president of North America and Australia at Qualcomm, he directed strategy and operations across two of the company’s largest regions. Earlier in his career, he led teams at Nextel, Sprint, Verizon Wireless, Airtouch Cellular, Cellular One and McCaw Cellular, gaining more than three decades of experience guiding organizations through rapid change and technological advancement.
Finley serves on the board of the Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association (CTIA) and the New York metropolitan area’s Regional Plan Association. He is also a board member of the Los Angeles Sports and Entertainment Commission and the Creighton University Board of Trustees. His board work reflects a commitment to advancing wireless innovation, regional planning and community development.
He earned bachelor’s degrees in marketing from Creighton University, where he is a member of the university’s Hall of Fame. He also attended the General Manager Program in Executive Education at Harvard Business School.
