The city of St. Catherines in Niagara, Canada has expanded its free Wi-Fi service even further to a sports centre.

According to bulletnewsniagara.ca, free Wi-Fi is now available at the Seymour-Hannah Sports and Entertainment Centre thanks to Skyway Wi-Fi, who also supplies free Wi-Fi to other amenities in the city.

Now visitors can live-tweet scores of hockey games or share pictures of the event on Facebook via their smartphones, laptops or tablet devices.

The Wi-Fi is accessible in all parts of the building, including the lobby, Meridian Room and the public seating area around the ice rink.

Users can access the connection at any time between 6am and midnight. They must also accept the terms and conditions of the service before they are able to connect.

Sandra Neil, enterprise services manager, said the centre is glad it can provide the free Wi-Fi and it hopes that visitors will really benefit from the service.

“We’re pleased to offer this service to our visitors,” she said. “From hockey parents wanting to share photos, to out-of-town visitors looking to explore the city, free Wi-Fi adds another level of comfort and customer service to the Seymour-Hannah Sports and Entertainment Centre.”

Recently, Skyway Wi-Fi also implemented free Wi-Fi at the St. Catherines Museum and Welland Canals Centre, niagarathisweek.com reports.
