“This expanded partnership with the Wireless Broadband Alliance is a natural next step in the evolution of the TIP OpenLAN portfolio. As a community, we look forward to the technical evolution and market expansion of these relevant and disruptive technology stacks,” said Steve Martin, CEO Shasta Cloud and TIP OpenLAN Project Group Chair.
Kristian Toivo, Executive Director of TIP, follows on by saying “TIP and WBA bringing their respective community strengths to the table is timely in the growth of the TIP OpenLAN Project Group. TIP thanks the leadership and drive of the TIP OpenLAN Project Steering Committee, as well as the openness of the WBA leadership in strengthening this bond. I personally look forward to more success in 2026 and beyond for TIP OpenLAN.”

About the Telecom Infra Project
TIP is a global community of companies and organizations that are driving infrastructure solutions to advance global connectivity. A lack of flexibility in the current solutions – exacerbated by a limited choice in technology providers – makes it challenging for operators to efficiently build and upgrade networks. Founded in 2016, TIP is a community of diverse participants that includes hundreds of companies – from service providers and technology partners to systems integrators and other connectivity stakeholders. We are working together to develop, test and deploy open, disaggregated, autonomous, programmable and standards-based network solutions that deliver the high-quality connectivity that the world needs – now and in the decades to come.
