  1. How will you be participating in Carrier Wi-Fi Summit and why do you think it is important to do so?
Comcast is a WBA board member, a Carrier Wi-Fi Summit exhibitor and a keynote event speaker. If you are a stakeholder in the fast paced WiFi industry, engagement is critical. Participating in the WiFi Summit is a great way to be involved – to be part of the diverse set of global businesses shaping the industry through standards, removing hurdles, providing better customer experience and driving innovation.
  2. What do you expect to be the major themes at this year’s Carrier Wi-Fi Summit/MWC? And Why?
Addressing wireless data demand and WiFi’s role in the future of connectivity? What does it take to support WiFi as it moves into a carrier class architecture capable of supporting millions of mobile users. We’ve seen the jump in demand; the consumer understands the benefits of offloading. As an industry, we need to be prepared.
  3. What do you plan to get out of your participation in the event?
An active Carrier Wi-Fi Summit strengthens the WiFi community. Comcast is a part of that community. With combined efforts and unified vision, it’s easier to set industry standards allowing us to move faster and to drive innovation. We also look forward to strengthening our relationships with the international carrier community that may be exploring options for mobile data roaming in the US.
  4. How do you think members of the Wi-Fi ecosystem will benefit from participating in/attending the Carrier Wi-Fi Summit?
The Carrier WiFi summit provides WBA members the forum to meet with industry peers and stakeholders, to share experience, collaborate and validate ideas. This is something you cannot do in a vacuum or on conference calls. The opportunity to engage with the vibrant WiFi community and to share thoughts with the foremost leaders in the wireless industry will undoubtedly leave attendees more knowledgeable, inspired and invigorated.
