Singapore – May 27th, 2014 – The Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA), the industry association focused on driving the next generation Wi-Fi experience, has announced the return of its Wi-Fi Global Congress to San Francisco. The WBA’s second Carrier Wi-Fi event of the year will take place on the 7-10th October 2014 at the Palace Hotel. The dedicated 4-day summit will act as a crucial meeting place for over 500 key influencers from across the wireless ecosystem looking to drive Carrier Wi-Fi.

The WBA’s Carrier Wi-Fi Summit at Mobile World Congress in February was the highest attended event in the Alliance’s history. The event boasted more than 550 conference attendees, 275 workshop attendees and 21 sponsors and exhibitors from around the world. There were 30 high level speakers in 13 workshop sessions and 27 conference presentations and panel discussions packed in to the 4-day event. Attendees included operators, leading industry players, analysts and members of the media community.

The San Francisco event will encompass a 2-day conference with presentations from a range of high-level speakers, WBA working sessions, and the annual Wi-Fi Industry Awards dinner. The speaker list for Wi-Fi Global Congress will be announced in June 2014.

Key conference topics that will be covered include:

  • Wi-Fi in the Connected Society
  • Carrier Wi-Fi – successful monetization strategies
  • Building the Future of Wi-Fi Technology
  • Emerging Opportunities from Next Generation Hotspot (NGH)

This year, the WBA will also host a pre-event briefing and networking session on Wednesday 8th October, giving board members, sponsors, exhibitors and speakers the opportunity to meet key media and analysts in the industry. Attendees will be able to network and discuss recent announcements, up-coming news releases or anything else that might be of interest to the wider industry.
