Three shopping malls in Dubai now provide free Wi-Fi access to its customers; allowing people to update their social media and check their emails on the move.
According to ameinfo.com, Deira City Centre, Mall of the Emirates and Mirdif City Centre all provide access to the free Wi-Fi. In order to gain access to it, customers must register to the service at one of the malls. Once registered, a password will be sent to the user via text message and then the user can use this password to use the Wi-Fi at all three of the malls.
Currently, only local residents can use the service, due to the fact texts can’t be received by international numbers but Majid Al Futtaim Properties is developing a system that will successfully send the SMS to tourists, reports emirates247.com.
Fuad Mansoor Sharaf, senior director of property management at Majid Al Futtaim Properties, said that the current generation requires facilities such as Wi-Fi.
“Providing shoppers with wireless technology throughout the mall highlights how Majid Al Futtaim Properties’ shopping malls evolve to complement the lifestyle of our guests,” he said. “We are excited to offer shoppers free Wi-Fi throughout the mall to provide them further flexibility and easy internet access while they are at the mall.”
