Luxury cruise operators, Crystal Cruises, has announced that it will be installing a Wi-Fi network for all of its Crystal Society members to use for free.

Loyalty card holders will be able to access the internet for up to 60 minutes each day for free, after which time they then have to pay a fee.

Work for the upgrade will begin over the coming months, making the internet available on all parts of the ship.
The Wi-Fi network will first be installed on Crystal Serenity in time for its New England/Canada sailing this September, with the second cruise liner, Crystal Symphony, following suit the next month.

According to usatoday.com, this is a multi-million-pound investment which is being put in place to improve the cruise experience for loyal customers. Up until now, internet access whilst at sea has been a hard thing to come by, only accessible through the on-board computers and for a premium rate – but the move from Crystal Cruises may be a sign of things to come.

Edie Bornstein, president at Crystal told traveldailymedia.com, that: “We are continually refining our all-inclusive experience to offer an array of choices for our global guests. Since the majority of our guests are repeaters, we opted to expand our Crystal Society offering as a thank you to our loyal patrons.”
