Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club’s stadium now has free Wi-Fi, thanks to a partnership between The Cloud and Ruckus Wireless.
The free service is being provided by The Cloud, whilst the network will be powered by Ruckus Smart Wi-Fi. Football fans will be able to connect to the internet from all the bars, press areas, stands and concourses, reports recombu.com.
Paul Barber, the football club’s CEO, says he hopes fans will use the service to post comments on social media, upload videos and check the scores of other matches taking place at the same time.
“The ability to get online has become a big part of match day,” he states. “For us, mobile is a great way of bringing the fans closer to the action and there’s an opportunity to expand on that in the future with competitions, games or other interactive tools. Having fast, free internet across the ground is key to engaging with fans.”
SkyBet, which sponsors the Football League, will also be supporting the Wi-Fi service and was behind the deal between Ruckus and The Cloud.
Wi-Fi access at the Amex Community Stadium will be implemented in time for Albion’s first game of the season, which takes place this weekend (August 9) against Sheffield Wednesday, reports trustedreviews.com.
This most recent announcement follows The Cloud’s other Wi-Fi roll-outs to sites including Legoland Windsor, Chessington World of Adventures and Warwick Castle Mediaeval Glamping site.
